Hello Bravo High School Parents,

From November 7th through November 10th, Bravo Leadership Students and the Parent Center are hosting a Canned Food Drive. Participating students will be eligible to receive volunteer hours that count toward their graduation requirements. For every $5 worth of food they bring to their second period class, students will receive 1 hour of community service. Students can earn a maximum of 5 hours for this Food Drive. Additionally, the classes that collect the most cans will also receive a special lunch time treat after Fall Break.

As we collect food items, please remind your child of the following requirements: 

Donated Items

• Must be pre-packaged: canned, boxed, or bagged

• Must be non-perishable items; i.e. have a long shelf life and don't require refrigeration to keep them from spoiling

• Must NOT be expired items

Your child can sign up to participate using the QR code on the attached flyer.

Hola estimados Padres de la preparatoria Bravo,

Desde el 7 de noviembre hasta el 10 de noviembre, los estudiantes de liderazgo de Bravo y el Centro de Padres organizarán una colecta de alimentos enlatados. Los estudiantes participantes serán elegibles para recibir horas de voluntariado que cuentan para sus requisitos de graduación. Por cada $5 en comida que traigan a su clase del segundo período, los estudiantes recibirán 1 hora de servicio comunitario. Los estudiantes pueden obtener un máximo de 5 horas para esta colecta. Además, las clases que recolectan la mayor cantidad de latas también recibirán un regalo especial a la hora del almuerzo después de las vacaciones de otoño.

A medida que recolectamos alimentos, recuérdele a su hijo/a los siguientes requisitos:

Artículos donados:

• Debe estar pre-envasado: enlatado, en caja o en bolsa

• Deben ser artículos no perecederos; es decir, tienen una vida útil prolongada y no requieren refrigeración para evitar que se echen a perder

• NO deben ser artículos vencidos

Su hijo puede registrarse para participar utilizando el código QR en el folleto adjunto.

Visit your counselor in the counseling office on the following days/times if you have any questions regarding your Fall schedule.  

12^th grade-   Tues, Aug. 9       (8:30am- 11:30am) 

11^th grade-   Wed, Aug. 10    (8:30am- 11:30am) 

10^th grade-   Thurs, Aug. 11   (8:30am- 11:30am) 

9^th grade-     Friday, Aug. 12   Freshman Spirit Day (8:30am – 12pm) 

Please keep in mind, there will be no class changes based on teacher preference. 

If you have taken summer school outside of LAUSD, please make sure to bring a transcript.   

A Google Form link will be provided at the end of this week to reach your counselor for those that are

not able to come on campus during program preview days.

National School Counseling Week 2022 (#NSCW22) is Feb. 7-11, 2022, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week, sponsored by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. National School Counseling Week is always celebrated the first full week in February.

This week we celebrate and recognize the incredible contributions of school counselors nationwide but we especially celebrate our counseling team here at Bravo.   We are fortunate to work with a distinguished set of individuals who are always giving it 100%.  Bravo thanks our COUNSELING TEAM so much for making this world better in so many ways.

Los Angeles Unified COVID-19 Testing Program

Los Angeles Unified is providing COVID-19 testing for all students and staff:

All students and employees, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, participating in in-person instruction must participate in ongoing weekly COVID-19 testing. This is in accordance with the most recent guidance from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. 

Additionally, all students and staff are required to have proof of a negative COVID-19 “baseline” test in order to come onto campus on January 11.

Tests are free, quick, easy, and your personal information will remain confidential!

While appointments are encouraged, no appointment is needed for Los Angeles Unified COVID-19 tests.
Operating hours for Monday, January 3 through Friday, January 7: 7:15 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Operating hours for Saturday, January 8: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Walk-Up Testing Locations (Starting January 3)

Between Monday, January 3 and Monday, January 10, COVID-19 testing for employees and students will be offered at additional locations throughout each Local District. Operating hours at these sites are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students and employees can walk-up to any of these sites without an appointment.
