Grading Policies
Students will be graded based on mastery of 9th/10th grade Common Core standards on assessments and classwork. All work will be graded on a 4-point scale.

Work exceeds targets. OR Highest quality work that demonstrates mastery of standard and meets all requirements of assignment. |
Proficient Understanding |
3 B - 60.1-80% |
Work consistently meets targets. OR Quality work that demonstrates understanding of the majority of the standard. May have some errors or miss some element of assignment. |
Developing Understanding |
2 C - 40.1-60% |
Work nearly meets targets or meets simplified targets. OR Student work shows evidence approaching understanding of standard. Multiple errors are present. Multiple elements of assignment missing or misunderstood. |
Limited Understanding |
1 D - 20.1-40% |
Work does not yet meet targets. OR Student work shows little or no evidence of understanding of standard. Assignment largely incomplete or misunderstood. |
Insufficient Data |
0 F - 1-20% |
Insufficient data to determine mastery or Assignment missing. |
Weighted Categories
Grades will be calculated based on the following weighted categories:
Classwork/Practice 20%
Formative Assessments 25%
Summative Assessments 40%
Portfolio/Unit Reflections 15%
