Principals Message

Hello Bravo Knights!


Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School is a leading institution of innovative and rigorous learning.   Bravo has partnered with multiple learning and civic institutions to provide our students with opportunities to learn and apply their learning in real world environments.   Partnerships with USC, USC School of Medicine, UCLA, ELAC, KAISER Permanente, and many others strengthen our rigorous curriculum to make sure all of our students have an opportunity to explore, experience, and continue their studies in the health career/profession of their choice.   Our graduation rate has consistently exceeded the state’s and district’s rate making us one of the top three public schools to best prepare students for college in Los Angeles.   Our students have opportunities to experience the arts, use technology, and participate in competitive sports programs.   Bravo Knights regularly achieve at high levels in academics, athletics, and community engagement.  We are the proud Knight family

1. Attention High Achieving 9th Graders: Minds Matter of Los Angeles would like to invite you to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at lunch in Hernandez Hall. This organization helps students prepare to apply to top universities. Don’t miss this very important meeting. (Mr. Maletz, 3/9 – 3/15)


2. Attention Seniors Planning to attend a community college in the fall: There will be an LA Promise presentation Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the Library. If interested pick up a pass in the College Center. (Mr. Maletz, 3/13 - 3/16)


3. Seniors! Prom is officially ONE month away – don’t forget to get your clearances done as soon as possible. Join the Class of 2018 on “A Walk Down The Red Carpet” on April 7, 2018 from 7 p.m. – 12 a.m. Ticket sales begin THIS Monday, March 12th for $105 and the week after for $110 at the Student Store. Voting for Prom King & Queen will also take place at Prom! Leadership is receiving music suggestions online or in room 420. (Mrs. Marks, 3/7 – 3/9)


4. Hey there Bravo Knights! The Academic Celebration, also known as Pep Rally, is right around the corner: Join the hype and celebrate the last week of school before Spring Break with our own Spirit Week: Monday – College attire; Tuesday – Character Day; Wednesday – Tacky Tourist; Thursday – Bravo Attire and Friday – Class Colors. (Mrs. White-Holloman (3/7 – 3/23)


5. Seniors! Make sure your baby pictures make it into the yearbook! Bring your original baby picture and $5 to Ms. Santana’s Room 322 by next Friday, March 2nd. Also, there’s still time to get your pet in the yearbook for FREE! Bring your pet pictures to Ms. Santana’s room 322 OR email them to Christina Sargsyan. Also, Senior Best ballots will be distributed during Econ/Gov. classes. They can be turned in anytime to room 322 Ms. Santana’s by this Friday, March 2! Be sure to fill them out or else the page will be unfortunately cancelled. (Mrs. White-Holloman, 2/23 -3/15)


6. Need Service hours? The Wellness Center housed at the Historic General Hospital needs student volunteers on Saturday, March 17. It is for their 4th Anniversary Celebration. Come to the Magnet Office to pick up an informational packet and a volunteer release form. (Mrs. Dypiangco, 3/12 -3/16
