Incoming Freshman Class of 2024

Welcome Bravo Knights! We are happy and excited to welcome the Class of 2024 and your families! The enrollment procedures are outlined below in the form of a checklist for your convenience. Please e-mail all completed enrollment forms and verification documents to melizald@lausd.net (picture files are acceptable) by June 1, 2020. On the subject line of your email, please type in student’s complete name and birthdate. Thank you!

Los procedimientos de inscripción se describen a continuación en forma de una lista de verificación para su conveniencia. ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES:

DISTRICT ENROLLMENT FORMS

In order to complete your enrollment/registration to Bravo HS, we need for you and/or your parents to complete the following required enrollment forms (attached OR available on Class of 2024 page on the school website).

E-01-LAUSD Student Enrollment Form

E-02-LAUSD Student Emergency Information Form

E-03-LAUSD Student Housing Questionnaire

E-04-LAUSD Responsible Use Policy

E-05-LAUSD Publicity Authorization and Release Form

DISTRICT VERIFICATION DOCUMENTS

Please also make sure to include the additional verification documents that are required to consider your enrollment complete. Missing documents will delay your being scheduled into your classes.

Provide one: utility service contract, property tax payment receipts, rental lease agreement, official government mail, current pay stub, or voter registration

Provide one: birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport, court order, health office/vital statistics record of birth certificate, or dated Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) letter verifying birthdate and an explanation of how this was verified

Provide both: student’s birth certificate, and parent’s government-issued photo identification (driver’s license, department of motor vehicle identification card)

Provide: Immunization Card

Provide one: Transcript(s) or recent grade reports

Provide if applicable: IEP or Section 504 Plan, DCFS 1399 Form

Para completar su inscripción / registro en Bravo Medical Magnet High School, necesitamos que el estudiante y sus padres completen los siguientes formularios de inscripción requeridos (adjuntos).

S-01-La forma de Inscripción del Estudiante de LAUSD

S-02-La forma de Información de Emergencia para el estudiante de LAUSD

S-03-El Cuestionario de LAUSD de Vivienda del Estudiante

S-04-Política del Uso Responsable (RUP) de los Sistemas de Computación del Distrito

S-05-Autorización de los padres o tutores para la divulgación publicitaria

DOCUMENTOS DE VERIFICACION DEL DISTRITO

Asegúrese también de incluir los documentos de verificación adicionales que se requieren para considerar su inscripción completa. Los documentos que faltan retrasará la programación de clases del estudiante.

Proporcionar uno: Contrato de Servicio de Utilidades, Recibos de pago de sus impuestos a la propiedad, contrato de renta, correo oficial de gobierno, talón de cheque reciente, o registración de votante

Proporcionar uno: Acta de nacimiento, certificado de bautizo, pasaporte, orden de la corte, récord del certificado de nacimiento de la oficina de salud/estadísticas vitales, o carta fechada del Departamento de Servicios Sociales Publico (DPSS) verificando la fecha de nacimiento y una explicación de cómo esto fue verificado.

PLACEMENT ASSESSMENT

ENGLISH PLACEMENT ASSESSMENT

All Freshmen will need to take an English Placement Assessment. This will ensure appropriate placement in the class in which you will be most successful.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE ASSESSMENT

All Freshmen will need to take a Foreign Language class. The two foreign languages offered at Bravo are Spanish and Mandarin. If you choose to take Spanish to fulfill your foreign language requirement, then you must take the Spanish Placement Assessment.

EVALUACIÓN DE LA COLOCACIÓN DE CLASE DE INGLÉS

Todos los estudiantes de primer año tendrán que realizar una evaluación de colocación en inglés. Esto asegurará la colocación adecuada en la clase de ingles en la que tendrá más éxito.

EVALUACIÓN DE LA COLOCACIÓN DE CLASE DE IDIOMA EXTRANJERO

Todos los estudiantes de primer año tendrán que tomar una clase de idioma extranjero. Los dos lenguajes extranjeros que se ofrecen en Bravo son Español y Mandarín. Si decide tomar la clase de español para cumplir con su requisito de idioma extranjero, entonces debe tomar la Evaluación de Colocación del idioma Español.

SUMMER BRIDGE

SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM

The Freshman Summer Bridge Program is a 2-week orientation-type course for all Bravo freshmen. It is an opportunity for incoming students to meet future classmates, Bravo teachers & staff, and to become familiar with campus services and our magnet school theme. The program will run on weekdays from August 3-14, 2020 for a total of 10 school days.

PROGRAMA DE SUMMER BRIDGE

El Programa Freshman Summer Bridge es un curso de orientación de 2 semanas para todos los estudiantes de primer año de Bravo. Es una oportunidad para que los estudiantes entrantes se reúnan con futuros compañeros de clase, el personal y los maestros de Bravo, y para familiarizarse con los servicios y el tema de nuestra escuela magnet. El programa se correrá de lunes a viernes del 3 al 14 de agosto de 2020 por un total de 10 días escolares.

JAIME ESCALANTE PROGRAM

JAIME ESCALANTE PROGRAM

The Jaime Escalante Program is a 5-week intensive math program. This summer’s program will focus on Geometry for students who are completing Algebra 1AB with a B or better. The class is designed to advance in math, not for credit recovery. Classes will be held virtually for six hours each day from June 24 - July 30, 2020. They will include instructional time and office hours.

 

Attendance is mandatory. More than 3 days of absence is grounds for dismissal from the program. No special accommodations will be given due to illness or vacation. Students who are committed to advancing in math and are prepared to spend five to six hours in class each day are encouraged to sign up.

 

The application process involves completing the application, getting a teacher recommendation, and verifying of grades.

  • Then, email the second link to your current math teacher (or direct them to this webpage) for the recommendation form to be completed by the teacher.  
  • If you are admitted to the program, a photo or scan of your most recent report card will be required to be submitted (instructions later). 

Space is limited so students will be selected randomly.
