During the 2006-07 school year, Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School was recognized with the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence by the United States Department of Education, the highest award an American school can receive. Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School is one of the top high schools in the state of California and ranked nationally 352nd in 2008 and 291st in 2007, according to Newsweek magazine's List of Top U.S. High Schools. Additionally, the school is known for its 2005-06 National No Child Left Behind Title I Distinguished Schools Recognition Award.
